How Shoe Designs Have Evolved In The Past Three Decades

Whenever we hear the term fashion, the very first thing that comes in our mind is the foxy and sensational look of the extremely sleek and trendy ramp models and the flashing lights of the cameras flashing that looks like a fashion event.

Footwear Design

For some, the main event of the fashion shows is the latest style in clothing, accessories, makeup products, jewelleries, hairstyles and the last but certainly not the least, the latest shoes!

Over the years, with the evolution of mankind, shoes have played an integral part in life, not only as a medium of protecting your feet; keeping them cool in summer and warm in winter season, thereby creating a barrier between the skin and external dirt.

Before the clothes became a medium to beautify and improve the shape of your body, shoe design was the primary source of fashion. Just like the modern era, the styles keep on evolving and evolved along with the fashion trends. However, fashion was just a little slower to improve than it is these days.

Speaking of the modern era, just considering as far as the 1980's, shoes were specifically designed to be simple yet suave; graceful, timeless and neat. In most cases, these fashionable shoes were only worn and therefore would only be noticed, during more special events or simply worn to work in the showroom or office; dress specifications were a bit more formal in those times.

Those days, the shoes were predominantly leather-soled and used to be harder on the feet, but they did have a longer life span and cost considerably more than today's illustrations. If we were to collate them with our contemporary footwear design, they might seem to be to be harder and less comfortable to wear, specifically while collating with those to today's everyday shoes which integrate some modern textures and convenient padded soles.
